   More about Myrddin:

The market town of Carmarthen is thought to be the birthplace of Myrddin, possibly the most famous wizard of all time. The young Myrddin was raised by his mother and nuns in the Church of St. Peter, and was to become King Arthur's mentor and chief strategist. The strange haunted world of Myrddin can be experience at Carmarthen's museum, where the remains of a tree, rumoured to have been planted by the sorcerer, can be seen. This fabled oak once grew in the town and was endowed with a bleak warning, which read:

"When Myrddin's Tree shall tumble down,
then shall fall Carmarthen town".
